Filming With Juice

Image
My group and I started out going to building 17 to film. Originally I thought were going to film by the library staircase, but the other building worked better. I moved the trashcan next to the staircase around a few times to fit our liking, and what we thought would look the best during filming. I was going to be the actor who got the smoothie spilled on them. I decided against bringing a real smoothie to film. In the end I used juice because it looked like a smoothie. I brought two of the props. That being the extra t-shirt and juice. I had to practice my spilling technique a few times because we only had one chance where I could spill on myself. I acted like I was drinking the juice during filming, so it was easier to fake spilling. My group and I started out trying to do a couple different angles for the first scene. I thought, and they agreed that moving the camera around instead of keeping it at a standstill worked best. Once figuring this out, we filmed it and the spill went wel

Slide one: In this opening clip, we will have two students in frame. Using a full body shot, one is standing with a smoothie in their hand and the other is briskly walking right towards them. In the background you can see the stairs behind the students. The actor walking will not be paying attention.  Slide two: In the second slide, the two students collide and the kid with a smoothie spills it on themselves. The one with no smoothie continues walking, and the one who spilled pauses for a moment. They try to clean themselves off and fail. They are visibly annoyed. The character on the stairs behind them witnesses this encounter. Slide three: In this we see our student with smoothie all over them, defeated. They reach into their backpack for a piece of gum. They open the gum and throw the wrapper over their shoulder behind them, aiming for the trash. The wrapper misses and falls next to the trash can. In the background we can see someone reach the bottom of the stairs. Slide four: T

Props The props we are planning to use will be Extra Gum, smoothie, and a cup. Costumes In our commercial one group member will be dressed in a white t-shirt so they can spill a smoothie on themselves. The other group member will have school clothing on.  Schedule: On 9/20/21, our group researched commercials, and began planning out commercial and brainstorming ideas. On 9/22/21, we established the props, costumes, schedule, location list and backup plan. On 9/24/21, we will complete our storyboard for the 30 second commercial. On 9/30/21 and 10/4/21, our group will start filming all of the clips we need the necessary shots for our commercial.  On 10/6/21 and 10/8/21, we will edit and add finishing touches to our commercial. Location Our commercial will be filmed by the stairs in front of the media center. We will have one of our actors walk by the stairs and spill a smoothie on themselves. The other actor will be walking down the stairs observing the first actor.  Backup Plan In cas

My group is doing an Extra Gum commercial. Music is included, often with an upbeat mood.  The commercials send a positive message. There are not usually any words said. The commercial ends with the phrase “Give Extra, Get Extra” In the commercials, there often is a tracking shot used to follow a character in a scene. In the background, there is usually the Extra Gum. This shows that it is an Extra commercial.  In Extra commercials they try to tell a story with their product uniting characters. They don’t just show the product outright. Two-shots and three shots are commonly used. One character often is holding the gum while the other(s) are on the side.

About My Commercial Group

Image
My groupmates are Maria Koehl and Siena Pancera. We met each other through school and soccer. I could immediately see I wanted to work with them. In being friends, we can see that we work well together. We decided to work together on this because we can trust that everyone will get their part of the project done. Our personalities do not clash. We all work together well and avoid arguing. We also all have different skills that will help the group. Maria is a very talented artist. She can help with the drawing the storyboard. People who are good at drawing may have a different eye than the rest of us.  Having someone with that skill set will benefit our group and commercial immensely. Siena and I prefer editing. I have always been some what into editing. However, I actually prefer filming. Siena prefers to edit. She has done projects before with editing, and is good at it. We will be very productive group. Through good planning and effort, our group will be successful. I think that wit

About Me

My name is Parker Merrick. I live in Florida, but I was born in Utah. I am 15 years old and I attend Fort Lauderdale High School. My favorite subject to study is math, because I like the thinking part of it. I enjoy English as well because you get to be creative. I am in a family of four, with my parents and sister. I also have two cats. I play soccer for a club and for my school team. On the weekends I like to go to the beach and hang out with my friends. Reading is something I have been getting more into recently. My favorite books are The Lunar Chronicles and the Harry Potter Series. Reading is something I really enjoy because its like a movie in your mind. Which brings me to what one of my other favorite thing to do is. That would be watching movies and TV shows. Some of my favorite movies are Interstellar and the Hunger Games. Some of my favorite TV shows are Gilmore Girls, Greys Anatomy and Criminal Minds. But I have never payed much attention to what goes into making a movie. Wh
